We'll depart from your area this morning en route to Essex, Connecticut. Today, we'll enjoy lunch at the GRISWOLD INN. You'll have a choice of Pan-Seared Breast of Chicken or Top Sirloin of Beef, served complete with all the trimmings. You are sure to enjoy your lunch at this fine restaurant.
After lunch, we'll step aboard the VALLEY RAILROAD STEAM TRAIN. You'll see old New England Houses, country lanes, flowering meadows, forests, streams, and the beautiful Connecticut River as you travel towards Deep River on this nineteenth century steam train. In Deep River you'll leave the train and transfer to a beautiful RIVERBOAT for an one-hour long ride. This large multi-level riverboat provides unobstructed views of rolling green hills, fine houses, Gillette's Castle, the Goodspeed Opera House and many other pleasure boats passing as we go down the river. When you return to the dock in Deep River, the Steam Train will be waiting to take you back to Essex.
