Kayaking

Class Description
  • Enjoy an exploration of the original North American public transportation! The course objective is to enable you to paddle with control on protected waters. You will learn about boat design, materials and equipment. Students will practice getting into the boat from shore and dock, paddling forward and backward, turning and sideways maneuvers, as well as safety and what to do if the boat capsizes. Emphasis will be on being able to steer and coordinate with a partner.
  • Canoe and equipment design and selection for proper use and fit of paddler.
  • On-water instruction and practice of strokes.
  • Canoe, Paddle and PFD (Personal Floatation Device) supplied by CCK for course.
