For Children Entering Gr. 1-7 in Fall 2013

Session 7

• For Grades 1-7 (Grade is the grade the child will enter in the fall of 2013).
• Camp hours are 8:45 am –3:00 pm. (Extended day hours are listed below).
• Camp is held at Pine Grove School.
• The program includes a wide variety of sports, arts & crafts, afternoon free swim on Tuesday and Friday, group games, free play and special events*.
• One Field Trip/Special Event per session will be scheduled.
• Field Trip/Special Event cost is included in the camp fee, however, some field trips will have an additional lunch fee.
• THE FIELD TRIP FOR THIS SESSION IS THE CONNECTICUT TROLLEY MUSEUM.
• Campers must provide their own lunch and transportation to and from camp.
• Children must bring a lunch and drink each day and a bathing suit, towel and sunscreen on free swim days.
• Registration deadline for camp is 4:30 pm the Friday prior to the start of the session.
• Anyone registering after the Friday deadline will be charged the full amount, plus a $10 late fee.

Extended Day Program Session 7

• Extended Day is available for an additional fee.
• The hours for Extended day are from 8:00 - 8:45 a.m. and 3:00 - 5:15 p.m.
• Children must be picked up promptly at 5:15 p.m.
• Fee for extended day is $50.00.

Enrichment Program 1 - Session 7 - Tennis

• 4 Classes - held Monday through Thursday, with Friday reserved as a rain date.
• Each camp session will have a "Enrichment Program", which will be held during the camp session.
• The Enrichment Program fee is a separate fee from the camp program.
• This Program is for children entering Gr. 1-7 in the fall of 2013.
• Class is designed for new players and those with some experience.
• All tennis strokes are introduced using U.S.T.A approved 10 and under balls.
• Footwork and hand, eye coordination drills are introduced to develop general athletic ability.
• Children will also be taught court positioning, score keeping, and etiquette.
• The program will cover all shots and basic skills neede for rapid improvement.
• Special U.S.T.A balls, nets and courts help build confidence in younger tennnis players.
• Children must bring a tennis racquet.
• Instructor: Professional staff from Farmington Farms Tennis and Athletic Club.

Special Needs Policy
The Avon Recreation and Park Department welcomes persons with disabilities in all programs and services which are appropiate for them. Participants who need special accommodations in order to participate successful must call the Recreation Department 2 weeks prior to the start of the program.
